Los Lobos just released their latest album, titled Native Sons, on New West Records. We’re always excited to work with the band on a new project. This tribute album is based on old 45 singles the band used to listen to for inspiration back when they first started out as musicians. It’s really more than just a set of covers — it shows how the band has evolved over the years through the many influences that have passed through Los Angeles. Some songs include: Thee Midniters (“Love Special Delivery”), Lalo Guerrero y Sus Cincos Lobos (“Los Chucos Suaves”), the Jaguars (“Where Lovers Go”), Willie Bobo (“Dichoso”), Buffalo Springfield (“For What It’s Worth” ), The Beach Boys (“Sail On, Sailor”) and War ( “The World Is a Ghetto” with guest vocals from Little Willie G. and Barrence Whitfield). This record is a tribute to a great American band from East LA and a must-listen, not just for the loyal Lobos fans, but all music fans willing to go on this musical journey with them.
