Jeff Smith

Principal & Creative Director

Raised in Northern California by his design-oriented parents, Jeff moved south to attend UCLA in 1983, later graduating with a degree in Communication Studies. After running the graphics department of a major healthcare company and a stint with a prominent Hollywood entertainment design agency, he left to form Tornado in 1992. His love of music, film, books, and art led to a design specialty in those areas. Tornado now serves an even more diverse clientele, but always with a focus on creative problem solving, brand-building, and clear communications. An interest in fine art and craft is expressed through Jeff’s work in ceramics and painting. He lives in Larchmont Village with his wife Sonja and son Charlie.
