Los Lobos latest album, Native Sons, won a Grammy for Best Americana Album! Well-deserved recognition for a great album.
We’re always excited to work with the band on a new project. This tribute to their home town is based on old 45 singles the band members used to listen to for inspiration back when they first started out. More than just a set of covers — the album shows how the band has evolved over the years, influenced by local artists or favorite bands that passed through Los Angeles. The lineup includes: Thee Midniters (“Love Special Delivery”), Lalo Guerrero y Sus Cincos Lobos (“Los Chucos Suaves”), the Jaguars (“Where Lovers Go”), Willie Bobo (“Dichoso”), Buffalo Springfield (“For What It’s Worth” ), The Beach Boys (“Sail On, Sailor”) and War ( “The World Is a Ghetto” with guest vocals from Little Willie G. and Barrence Whitfield). This record is a tribute to a great American band from East LA and a must-listen, not just for loyal Lobos fans, but all music lovers willing to go on this musical journey with them.
