The start of the Summer Games reminds us of an iconic poster for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games by our friend, designer and filmmaker extraordinaire Arnold Schwartzman, who served as Director of Design for the event. We had the pleasure of hearing Arnold and others speak about his long, notable career in the world of design back in April at an AIGA LA/BritWeek event at Moss Theater. He recounted how, in the era of pre-digital photography, he had to shoot rolls and rolls of film of the bicyclists looping around the velodrome in formation before he got just the shot he had envisioned.
